View The World From The Eyes Of A Cat As Man Attaches A Camera To His Cat To Capture His Playful Adventures
Tom’s Guide editor-in-chief Tom Prospero decided to find out what his cat is really like, so he strapped a camera onto Mervin and let him roam like a tiny, furry undercover agent. The internet loves a good “day in the life” video, but this one came with the added twist of, well, cat logic.
In the footage, Prospero expected chirping, purring, and playful social chaos like the cats in other videos. Instead, he mostly got confirmation that Mervin is extremely lazy, with long stretches of doing absolutely nothing. Still, one moment broke the boredom: Mervin jumped into a tree, slid across the yard fence, and paused to chirp at a bird, paws poised like he was auditioning for a wildlife documentary.
Now Prospero is talking about sending the camera back out again, hoping for more action and fewer naps.
The editor-in-chief of the renowned consumer tech blog, Tom’s Guide, captured remarkable footage

Before Mervin even gets a chance to cause trouble, Prospero is already comparing him to those other cats that actually socialize and frolic.

“The cats in the other videos I’ve seen have a pretty active social life, chirping and purring near other cats and frolicking around their yard,” the man wrote. “Does my cat have a similar joie de vivre? I was about to find out!”
Prospero claims that rather than witnessing any notable action, he observed Mervin being extremely lazy, which validated his initial impression of Mervin's lethargy. Still, there was one interesting occasion that was caught on camera.
Prospero expressed his intention to send Mervin with the camera again on multiple occasions

That’s where it gets awkward, because the camera mostly captures Mervin’s signature move: extreme laziness, validated in real time.

This also echoes the friend who freaked out after her pal posted her cat video online.
Then the video finally delivers, when Mervin hops into a tree and slides across the fence like he’s got places to be.

Mervin jumped up into a tree, slid across his yard's fence, and stopped briefly to provide a sweet bird-chirping voice—a habit that cats are naturally drawn to, despite the fact that it endangers our feathered friends. The result was unremarkable, but it did feature cute moments where Mervin was gentle with his delicate paws.
Prospero repeatedly stated that he planned to send Mervin around with the camera again in hopes of capturing more intriguing events. Hopefully, there won't be as many naps in the next videos.

After the bird-chirping pause, Prospero keeps promising another run, banking on more tree antics and less “dozing off mid-adventure.”

Still, it's amazing to see a cat hop in and out of trees with grace, showing off those beautiful whiskers and paws. I'm just speculating, but this idea might also serve as the basis for some incredible virtual reality games. What are your thoughts about this story?

Mervin might be the laziest cat on earth, but he’s one fence-slide away from stealing the whole show again.
