17-Year-Old Adopted Dog Hangs On To Life, Just Long Enough To Meet Human Sister
Some people show up with blankets, and sometimes those blankets come back with a miracle attached. Beth and Michael Clark were doing their usual winter routine, dropping off cozy donations at Anne Arundel County Animal Control, when they met Rocky. The moment Beth laid eyes on him, it was basically decided: a gray-faced, bony 17-year-old dog who looked like he’d been through too much.
But this story gets complicated fast. Beth was seven months pregnant when they got the news that Rocky might have a tumor, and then his health started slipping. Still, the Clarks brought him home, and Rocky somehow held on long enough to meet their baby girl, cuddling up with her the second she arrived.
And the heartbreaking part is, Rocky’s timing was perfect in the most devastating way.
The Cutest Gift Ever

That’s when Beth and Michael decided the shelter dog they found that day, Rocky, was going home with them instead of staying behind.
A couple, Beth and Michael Clark, are known for regularly donating blankets to animal shelters during the winter to warm up stray dogs. On a fateful day, they visited Anne Arundel County Animal Control to donate blankets, but this time, they received a gift of their own.
“When I saw this gray-faced, bony dog, I told my husband, ‘We’re going to catch him,’” Beth said.
The couple took 17-year-old Rocky home with them. The dog was grieving; yet, they couldn’t help but fall in love with him.
Tough Times Ahead

Right after Beth hit seven months pregnant, the couple learned Rocky might have a tumor, and the sweet moments started coming with a countdown.
This rescue story mirrors Dave the dog’s two-year foster chaos, love, and the Redditor’s “can’t give up” dilemma.
Unfortunately, when Beth was seven months pregnant, the couple received news that Rocky might have a tumor. Soon after, their adorable dog’s health started to deteriorate.
A Dog That Will Forever Be Remembered

Then, on the day the Clarks brought their new baby home, Rocky did the one thing he could, he sniffed her and laid his head on her like he was saying hello.
After Rocky’s condition kept worsening, the family faced the brutal goodbye, even though he’d already met his human sister.</p>
The day Beth and Michael brought their new baby home, Rocky was thrilled to meet her. He gave her a quick sniff and laid his head on her as a show of affection.
His condition didn’t improve, so the couple was left with no choice but to say goodbye to their cherished dog.
It will undoubtedly be challenging for this couple to forget their beautiful dog. And even though he didn’t get to spend a long time with his human sister, we bet they will tell her all about him when she’s old enough to understand.
The Clarks may have only spent a short time with Rocky, but we’re glad they adopted the precious dog. Without a doubt, they gave the dog the best few months of its life, and for that, we think they are pretty cool.
