Adorable Cat Named Giggles Has A Permanently Angry Face
The internet loves cats, but if there's a particular kind of cat it loves the most, it might be the grumpy lookin' kitties. After all, that's how cats like Furious Maud and the Infamous Grumpy Cat became so incredibly beloved.
When a kindhearted gal from Akron, Ohio, discovered a grumpy-faced tabby cat hanging around her home, she figured he wouldn't be very friendly. The kitty appeared to have been living on the streets for some time, and he wore an unmistakable scowl on his face permanently.
But as the lady got acquainted with the cat, she came to realize that couldn't be further from the truth. Although the cat looked angry on the outside, he was very loving and sweet.
So the woman contacted Riggi Rescue to see if they might be willing to help the stray kitty. Of course, they were more than happy to see what they could do for him.
"When he first came in, we had gotten some pictures of him, and he just looked so grumpy. I was like, 'Oh my gosh, is he nice?' and she was like, 'Oh yeah, he's super friendly,'" Melanie Anielski, from the rescue said.
"That's just his face. It doesn't really matter if he's happy or content - he's never really angry - he's just always looking at you with that little scowl, and you can't help but giggle when you look at him."
The rescue affectionately called the cat Giggles and began looking for his owner. Despite his angry face, Giggles was quick to show his gratitude with lots of cuddles.
"His demeanor is very chill," Anielski said. "He's super laid-back; he loves to plop down next to you wherever you're sitting, wants you to scratch his belly. So he's really, really loving."
When no one came forward to claim the cat, the rescue posted a photo of him on their Facebook page. It wasn't long before the pictures of Giggles and his frowning face went viral on social media.

"We were really surprised because we're just a little group of people who love cats, and now one of our cats is Insta-famous," Anielski said. "It was really exciting."
Anielski says that Giggles made it perfectly clear who he wanted as his forever family. "When they first met, it was an instant connection, like they had known each other forever," she said.
"It was the sweetest thing to watch. He just walked right up to his new mom and started rubbing up on her legs and rolled over, and he was just immediately in love with her."
Giggles now helps out the shelter by promoting their services and generating excitement about adopting cats. When he's not busy working, Giggles loves spending time with his two cat brothers and their loving humans.

"He really just wants human companionship, and I think he's really happy that he has that now," Anielski said.
