People Are Sharing Their Photos of the Most Photographed Dog in Belgium Before He Passed Away
Bruges is famous for its canals, cobblestones, and postcard-perfect streets, but for years, one golden Labrador quietly became part of the city’s charm. Visitors to a bed and breakfast near the Côté Canal often looked up and spotted Fidèle, the dog who turned a simple window into a local landmark.
People came to Bruges for the scenery, then ended up taking photos of the sleepy pup instead. His face, his favorite spot, and the steady stream of admirers made him feel like a tiny celebrity with a very loyal fan base.
Now, years after his death, people are still sharing the pictures they took of him, and the memories are just as sweet as ever.
Here is the original post of the little pup. His name was Fidèle.
The original poster was then devastated to learn that the dog sadly passed away in 2016.
Others replied with their sightings of the pooch.
People really did treat him like a local celebrity.
He's just chillin'!
Memories of Fidèle go back to 2004...
Honestly, this dog was living in an indie movie or something.
And he was in a movie, in fact (with Colin Farrell!).
So many people were thrilled to have caught a glimpse of him.
Fidèle lived at the Côté Canal Bed and Breakfast.
That window became his signature spot.
In May 2010...
and July 2014...
Many people witnessed his glory!
He had a way of stealing every frame.
This is the same kind of emotional gut-punch as a dog’s Last Will And Testament, meant for humans.
I wish I looked as good napping as he did.
It's like something from Pinterest, to be honest.
Wish! I! Were! Him!
Fidèle was quite the celebrity.
Those who were not fortunate enough to see Fidèle began to share other glorious pictures of animals staring out of windows... like this guy!
The dog asks for peace, so we must grant it.
And the internet happily kept the window-animal tradition going.
Cats, too!
Such cuties.
Beautiful!!!!
Catch me walking around staring into windows now!
Fidèle may be gone, but his little perch still has a big legacy.
