This City Let People Pay Their Parking Fines By Donating Cat Food To A Local Shelter
Parking fines usually mean one thing, paying up and moving on. In Muncie, Indiana, though, a local program turned that routine headache into something a lot more heartwarming.
Muncie Animal Care & Services and the Muncie Police Department teamed up so people could pay certain parking tickets with donations for cats and kittens, including food, litter, beds, and blankets. The idea gave drivers a way to help a shelter that was caring for more than 350 cats and kittens, while also making an ordinary fine feel a little less painful.
And once the shelter started sharing the results, the whole thing got even cuter.
Muncie Animal Care & Services posted this on their Facebook page:
"Got parking tickets? Want to help the 350+ cats/kittens currently being cared for at Muncie Animal Care and Services? MACS has partnered with the Muncie Police Department with a wonderful program that allows people who have parking tickets to pay their tickets with cat/kittens food, litter, wet/pâté canned food, beds, blankets, etc., instead of paying with ...[truncated]It's such a cute idea!
