Cat Baffles Owner After He Brought Home An Abundance Of Swimming Goggles
A cat owner in Bristol has been left scratching her head after her ginger pet kept turning up with swimming goggles. The odd part is that the family does not live anywhere near a pool, yet the collection has already grown to eight pairs.
Sally Bell says her cat Avery has a habit of bringing home all kinds of things, but the goggles have taken the mystery to another level. She has checked with neighbors and local groups, hoping to find out where the children's goggles came from and who might be missing them.
For now, Avery is still the talk of the neighborhood, and nobody seems to know where his latest haul began.
Sally is a retired nurse from Bristol, and she still has no idea where these goggles her cat brought home are from.

The particularly confusing part about all of this is that there's no swimming pool or leisure center in the area where goggles could be found. Sally is desperate to know the rightful owners of these goggles so she can return their belongings to them.
Mum of two, Sally said:
"Since Avery was allowed to go out, he's always been a hunter - we've had mice, frogs, and even a baby magpie last year.
"He's not afraid of the size of the kill.
"I found the first pair of goggles in the conservatory where my cats sleep, and I thought it was really odd; like, where did they come from?
"I didn't really take a lot of notice, but then there was another pair a few days later."

That was only the beginning.
"When it got to four pairs, I was talking to my neighbor, and they said Avery had brought them a pair as well that they'd found in their garden!
"He's now got eight pairs, and I just don't know where they're coming from, if they've come from the same house or from a couple of houses.
"I'm just bemused by it!"
"I went around all my neighbors who have children, and one of them has a swimming pool, so I really thought it would be related to them, but no."
This feels similar to the pet mom who feared her partner was trying to harm her, after outdoor cat sabotage.

Now she's hoping someone recognizes the missing goggles.
"I've been posting in local groups but have had no takers; people just laugh, and nobody has come forward to say they've had some go missing.
"They are all children's size goggles, so I am worried that there could be children out there getting in trouble for losing their goggles.
"Times are uncertain at the moment, so it has been lovely to hear people laughing at the story and knowing Avery has made so many people smile."
Avery may have a very strange hobby, but he has certainly made an impression.
