The Museum of a Cat Lover's Dreams Exists in Real Life, and Crazy Cat People Are Flocking There
Cat lovers finally have a real-life destination that feels made for them, and it is not just a corner of a larger museum. KattenKabinet in Amsterdam is entirely cat-themed, with cat paintings, sculptures, posters, and even live cats wandering around the space.
The museum was founded in 1990 by William Meijer, a wealthy cat lover who created it to honor the memory of his cat, Tom. That personal origin story gives the place a surprisingly sweet backstory.
Now cat people are making the trip to see it for themselves, and the museum has become a must-visit stop for anyone who thinks one cat is never enough.
Also, this takes me back to the rescue cat who lost his eye, then found a temporary home with lots of fellow feline friends at a cat café in Rescue Cat Loses His Eye.
The museum is incredibly impressive! It looks and feels like a "normal" museum. It even has works by Picasso for you to admire!
The museum has been converted from a house. The museum occupies the lower floor, while the owner and their family still live upstairs. There are four rooms to walk through.

There's even a gift shop that is full of cat merchandise (and who can get enough of that)!
Plus, as if it couldn't get any better, there are actual cats wandering through too!
This post is not sponsored by KattenKabinet, but I sure wish it were. Visit their website here.
