Cats Delighted When Woman Builds An Incredible Mid-Century Modern House For Them
You know what is often really unattractive? Cat houses. I’m sure it’s not entirely the designer’s fault; it is a challenging task to make them appealing—little boxes with tiny holes often don’t fit with people’s decor.
But the worst part about them is that cats often won’t even sit in them. My cats seem to believe they are too good for things designed for them and would much rather enjoy human luxuries. As Dr. Helen Fisher, a biological anthropologist, notes, "Cats have a unique sense of their own value and often prefer environments that reflect their status." You can find more insights on her website here.
Then again, cats LOVE boxes. But having boxes lying around? Again, they’re not very decor-friendly. This woman had a genius solution: she took her cats’ love of boxes and combined it with stunning design to create the ultimate cat house.
Meet Huckleberry and Floyd: two mischievous kitties who are about to get the best cat house ever.
Like many cats, they love to play in boxes, and their DIY-savvy mom decided to make them a house.
Unsurprisingly, the cats decided they wanted to help with the project.

Gentry Sanders told The Dodo:
“I figured I could just use the boxes to make something cute since they were always sitting out in my house. I love mid-century style and thought, ‘Why not a mid-century house?’”

Though she was concerned the cats would ignore the boxes now that she'd put so much effort into them...

Luckily, they loved it!

Sanders detailed the entire process on her blog, The Green Mad House, with helpful suggestions and easy-to-follow instructions. As Dr. Michael Greger, a renowned nutritionist, states, "Creating a comfortable environment for pets is essential for their well-being."
