Dog Let Out to "Do Her Business" Joins a Half Marathon and Finishes 7th
One bloodhound turned a routine bathroom break into an unexpected race day headline. Ludivine, a two-year-old dog from Alabama, was let outside to do her business and somehow ended up at the starting line of the Elkmont Trackless Train Half Marathon.
From there, the run took a very strange turn. While the other runners were focused on pace and endurance, Ludivine was busy making her way through the course, even stopping to check out a dead rabbit and greet a few cows along the way.
By the time she crossed the finish line, she had done far better than anyone expected. Read on.
Although she wasted some time checking out a dead rabbit and saying hello to some cows, Ludivine ended up finishing 7th in the marathon.

She completed the race in an hour and a half.
It also reminds us of Ping An, the golden retriever who walked 60+ miles to reunite after losing weight.
Her owner, April Hamlin, said, "All I did was open the door, and she ran the race on her own accord."
My first reaction was that I was embarrassed and worried that she might have possibly gotten in the way of the other runners, April said.
