Adorable Dogs Unexpectedly Surprise People Every Day And People Document It All In The "Dogspotting Group"
Dogspotting has turned everyday dog encounters into a full-blown internet pastime, and the results are exactly as charming as you would expect. In the Facebook group, members post photos of random dogs they spot in the wild, from train rides and drive-thrus to rooftops, fences, and sidewalks.
With more than 1.8 million members, the group has built its own simple rule set, and that keeps the focus on surprise sightings instead of familiar pets. The payoff is a steady stream of funny, sweet, and sometimes downright bizarre dog moments that people cannot wait to share.

To be a good dog spotter, you should avoid the so-called "low hanging fruit," the places where you would expect to see dogs (vets, groomers, parks, etc.).
People usually share photos and videos, but the group admins also accept text spots (explanations of the who, what, when, and where of the pup you spotted) and art spots (creative depictions of the "target").
You won't find any politics in this group. There are no debates about ear crops, adopt vs. shop, or other related subjects in the group, either. "Keep in mind spotters do not have control over the dogs they spot. Be respectful!" the admins say.
That rule keeps the whole thing delightfully unpredictable.
