Despite sharing this world with us, cats live by their own rules that cats made up themselves. No matter how much you try to understand how their kitty brains function, you will never be able to come to a logical conclusion that explains why cats do the things cats do. 

It has been "proven" that the laws of physics don't work on cats, or at least the evidence is awfully incriminating. That's why cats have nine lives, they somehow managed to hack the rules life and give themselves more chances to gamble life.
