Two Cats Have Been Trying To Sneak Into a Japanese Museum For Years
Two cats in Hiroshima have spent years trying to get into the Onomichi City Museum of Art, and the staff still cannot seem to shake them off. Every time the pair shows up at the entrance, they make a run for the door, only to be escorted back outside again.
The black cat, Ken Chan, first appeared soon after the museum opened a cat photography exhibition, and the ginger cat, Gosaku, later joined in on the routine. What started as a strange little interruption turned into a running joke, and then into a local favorite.
Now the museum keeps posting their latest appearances, and the cats keep coming back for another try.
The security guard spends most of his day blocking cats from entering

Sometimes it gets really close

The cats have turned the museum entrance into their own little stage.
Waiting for the right moment

Here's its accomplice, the ginger cat

Blocking the door entirely

Even after repeated failures, they keep coming back.
Failed Attempt #546

Trying to find a gap

Never give up

The staff has been documenting every visit like a tiny ongoing saga.
This is the same kind of petty power play as Oliver the cat’s malicious compliance, “Don’t you dare. Stop it!”
Busted

Such a persuasive technique

Perfectly executed

Examining the place

They don't pay me enough for this sh*t

He has had enough

Such a hateful stare

Maybe if I keep standing still, he won't notice me

They'll never stop me, mouhahaha

At this point, the museum and the cats seem locked in a very patient standoff.
