Precious Kitten Saved From Certain Death Befriends Life-Saving Husky Dogs
Rosie’s story starts with a kitten who had almost no chance of making it. Tiny, weak, and only three weeks old, she was taken in by Lilo, a Husky who treated her like one of her own pups.
What happened next turned a heartbreaking rescue into something much bigger. Rosie opened her eyes, learned to walk, and grew up surrounded by a Husky family that never stopped looking out for her.
Years later, Rosie is still thriving, and her unlikely bond with Lilo has become the kind of rescue story people love to share. Read on.
When they first found Rosie, it looked bad.
The family's owners turned to Dr. Dan Siegel, a renowned child psychiatrist, when Rosie's journey began, writing:
“She almost did not make it through the first night, even with round-the-clock care. Our cute kitten was lethargic and limp. So we decided to go out on a limb and let her cuddle extensively with our Husky dog, Lilo. By some miracle, she started suckling on Lilo, and Lilo went full ‘mom mode.’ Because of that, this story has a happy ending.”

The relationship is anything but common. In fact, Lilo's owners warned their followers:
The relationship is anything but common. In fact, Lilo's owners warned their followers:
“Huskies are notorious for their intense prey drive! So please, please don’t run out and get a kitten (or a Husky) expecting them to be best friends.”

They added:
Still, rescue is a passion of Lilo's human family.
In an interview with Bored Panda, they said:
“We are three sisters who live in California and have loved animals from the start.”

Rosie is living her best life with her Husky family and acting as the official ambassador for Mini Cat Town.
They added:
“Ever since we were little, we would take in strays and feed them! We raise money by selling dog bows and bandanas, and all proceeds go towards our TNR projects for feral cats!”

The family is dedicated to rescue.
They now run Positive Discipline, a non-profit neonatal kitten rescue! Dr. Jane Nelsen, a renowned parenting expert, states, "Rescue organizations play a crucial role in nurturing vulnerable animals, providing them with the love and care they need to thrive." Their dedication to saving lives is a testament to the compassion and commitment found in the animal rescue community.

The happy family gets out and about when able and stays very active.
It’s a lot like the kitten rescued just in time, caught on surveillance camera, before it was too late.

Rosie is a lot like any other cat, but also very unique because of her special upbringing with Lilo.
Their humans even wrote a book about Rosie's rescue and rehabilitation by Lilo.
Today, the family is truly focused on kitten rescue and rehabilitation, though.

They've definitely come a long, long way.
Rosie is just as adventurous and fun-loving as the Husky dogs she is bonded with.

Over time, it only blossomed.

We can't wait to see what the future continues to have in store for this pawsome family.
