Irish Wolfhounds Pictures Emphasize How Massive This Dog Breed Really Is
Irish Wolfhounds have a way of making every other dog look small. With roots believed to stretch back to 391 AD, this ancient breed was once prized for hunting, and today it is best known for its towering frame and surprisingly soft personality.
Breed standards call for a height of about 32 to 34 inches, but pictures of Irish Wolfhounds often make those numbers feel even bigger. They may look intimidating at first glance, yet owners keep proving the same point, these are gentle, affectionate giants who seem happiest when they are leaning, lounging, or squeezing into places that are clearly too small.
These photos make one thing obvious, size is only part of the story. Read on.
