Dogs Enjoy Watching Their Neighbors Through a Hole in the Fence, So Their Owners Had Some Fun with Them
Some dogs are natural neighborhood watchers, and Burger and Ripley have turned that instinct into a full-time hobby. Their favorite spot is a hole in the fence, where they can keep tabs on every passerby.
What started as a simple fix for one curious pup grew into something much more playful when their owners decided to frame the view with dog-themed art. Then quarantine arrived, foot traffic picked up, and the whole setup became even more of a local attraction.
The result is part pet project, part neighborhood spectacle, and it only gets better as the artwork keeps changing.
Meet These Cute Dogs, Burger and Ripley!
The pair of dogs love to watch what is happening in their neighborhood through a hole in the fence.
Brain Stanley told Bored Panda:
“The whole thing started last August when Burger was just a few months old and began digging under the fence so that he could see people passing by. To solve this, I cut a hole in the fence to act as a window for him. He immediately started using the window and stopped digging.”
That little window quickly became the dogs' favorite neighborhood TV.
When Quarantine Hit, Brain Had a Very Creative Idea...
“Fast forward to this March and the COVID shutdown. I found myself out of work, and my son was home from school.
The two of us noticed an increase in foot and bike traffic on the street side of the fence. I came up with the idea to paint a dog-themed mural to frame the window, which would come to life when Burger stuck his head through the fence.”
And once they started painting, they clearly had a lot of fun with it.
