Shelter Pit Bull Refuses To Get Adopted Unless Her Dog Best Friend Comes With Her
Dogs, just like humans, are social creatures. So it isn't surprising to see a canine getting attached to its kind.
Some owners have even reported that their dogs become obsessed with another dog. The truth is that dogs can form bonds with just about every creature.
It's possible for them to be friends with cats, birds, horses, and other animals. What's the reason behind this behavior?
According to experts, a number of species need to live in groups or packs to ensure their survival, and these include dogs. Animals can benefit from having positive feelings toward members of the pack.
Eventually, the group becomes motivated to stick together. We can interpret these behaviors as forming and maintaining friendships.
Let's look at Chihuahuas as an example. These dogs show unwavering loyalty that goes beyond their owners.
They love to be in the company of their chosen friends. They're also fond of seeking attention from their favorite human or animal.
Another example is the German Shepherd, which is known for its strong bonds with its family. While some of them might be more outgoing and friendly toward strangers than others, all of these dogs have a wonderful ability to form long-lasting connections with their loved ones.
Today's story is about the loyalty of a Pit Bull toward her little best friend, a Chihuahua. The big dog was so attached to the small one that she couldn't just let him go.
This is Merrill and Taco. The two dogs met at a shelter.
Merrill is a three-year-old Pit Bull, while Taco is an eight-year-old Chihuahua.

Merrill left her owners with no choice but to adopt her BFF. She can't bear to be apart from the little fellow.
The moment these two dogs met, they became inseparable. They end up crying and whining loudly when people try to separate them.
That's why the shelter staff decided to put the two dogs in the same enclosure. They would always lie so close to one another.
Taco was looking for a true friend. Fortunately, he found it in Merrill.
They simply fell in love with each other. One day, a man came to the shelter and decided to adopt Merrill.
But the Pit Bull didn't like the idea of being separated from her BFF.

The man signed all the required paperwork and was ready to take Merrill home.
But when she was taken out of her enclosure, she and Taco immediately began whining loudly. They shared a heartwarming moment, locking eyes with incredibly sad expressions.
Merrill firmly planted all four paws on the ground and refused to move an inch. The Pit Bull was about to be welcomed into her forever home, but she was determined not to let go of her best friend.

After witnessing the strong love between the two BFFs, Merrill's owner was touched.
At that moment, he realized that he couldn't take only one dog home. He decided that he couldn't separate the two and took Taco home as well.
Finally, Merrill and Taco are together in one forever home, and it's all thanks to the owner who decided to adopt both.
