Owner Spots Baby Possum Hitching a Ride on Her Dog's Back
A baby possum hitching a ride on a dog sounds like the kind of scene people would only catch on camera, but Sally Watkinson saw it happen for real. Her dog Kato ended up with a tiny Australian ringtail possum clinging to his back, and the photos she shared on Facebook quickly turned the moment into a viral curiosity.
The situation got even stranger when Sally later said it happened twice. At first, she noticed a small female possum perched on one of her dogs, while neither dog seemed to realize anything unusual was going on. The dogs were eventually taken to the vet by her partner Jon, and the possum was later handed over to wildlife rescue.
By the time the second round of photos appeared, people online were already fully invested in the little hitchhiker.
The dog is completely oblivious to the fact that this tiny baby was hitching a ride on his back.
