The public got to know her during the campaign, and now Anthony Albanese's dog Toto is becoming a true social media celebrity

The pet dog just made her Twitter debut when a fan created an account for "Australia's 1st dog" and amassed more than 19,000 followers in under 24 hours.

Albanese announced Toto's arrival back in 2015 on his Instagram account. He even revealed in a later interview how Toto helps him handle the demands of being a politician.

"I definitely feel better for all the time I spend with Toto, " he told the Adelaide Advertiser.

"She's loving, she's loyal, she's great company, and she's always so happy to see me."
