Rescue Cat Makes An Unlikely Friend In A Pet Rat
Jagger started life as a stray kitten in a garage, and somehow ended up becoming the kind of cat that makes friends with just about everyone. First it was a dog, then later it was a pet rat named Willow, and the bond between them turned into the sweetest part of the story.
After Allmon took in Jagger and later brought home a group of stray rats, one of them escaped and wandered straight into the cat's orbit. Instead of chaos, the two animals clicked almost instantly, and Jagger's easygoing personality made the whole situation even more surprising.
Now Willow and Jagger are inseparable, and the rest of the pets are part of the same unusual little crew. Read on.
Meet Jagger; a stray kitten born in a garage.
MacKenzie Allmon is a lover of all animals. Her cat, Jagger, was born in her garage!
In a conversation with The Dodo, Allmon said, "In our old neighborhood, there was a flea market close by, and people would give away kittens there — but at the end of the day, if they still had some left, they would just turn them loose, which caused our neighborhood to be filled with wild cats."
Allmon took in a fat stray cat, and she ended up giving birth to kittens.
Allmon found homes for all the other kittens but couldn't bear to part with Jagger.
Jagger is a very loving cat and has even become closer friends with a dog.
Jagger was already proving he had a very social streak.
Eight months later, Allmon also decided to take in some stray rats.
Cautious about how Jagger would respond to the rats, Allmon created a protected area for her new pets: Willow, Jasmine, Eevee, and Sadie.
One day, Willow the rat escaped the rat habitat.
Allmon looked all over her house for the sneaky rat.
Eventually, she found her.
Cuddled up with Jagger!
That escape turned into the start of something unexpected.
Also heartwarming, Pickles the deaf dog turned rescue kittens into his own, caring for two kittens as security and warmth.
Ever since the day they met, Willow and Jagger have become inseparable.
They follow each other around the house and love to wrestle!
Sadie, Eevee, and Jasmine are also buddies with the friendly cat, but Willow is Jagger's favorite.
It just goes to show you can always find friendship in the unlikeliest of places.
Willow may have won the top spot, but the whole pet lineup seems to get along just fine.
