George The Himalayan Cat Should Win An Award For His Incredible Elegant Jumping
George, a chocolate point Himalayan cat from Melbourne, has a jump that looks almost too smooth to be real. One quick leap over a staircase block, and he seems to float through the air like he owns the place.
The one-year-old kitty was caught on video jogging up and down before making his move, then landing with the kind of elegance that makes ordinary cats look clumsy. It is the sort of clip that turns a simple stair gate into a tiny stage.
He then jumps and hardly changes his position while flying before wandering out of view, probably in his owner's home.
An average domestic feline can jump about 8 feet high, that is about six times their body length.
Himalayan cats first appeared in the U.S. in the 1920s, and organizations began acknowledging them as a breed in 1957.
That leap is doing a lot of the work here.
Gorgeous George, a chocolate point Himalayan, is annoyed by the stair gate in his way.

He starts his jump.

It really does look effortless.
And if you love rare sightings, this “incredible jump” energy matches the elusive clouded leopard spotted in a high-altitude Himalayan forest.

Easily leaping over the obstacle, Gorgeous George graciously starts his descent.

And just like that, he is already landing.
He lands perfectly on the other side.

And he’s gone... Gorgeous George goes out of sight.

George makes the whole thing look easy.
