If You Are Interested In Your Cat's Future, Then The Latest Paw-Reading Trend That Hit Japan Might Be The Thing You Need
Reading cat paws is a feline variant of palmistry that suggests your cat's jelly beans are more than just for show. Yes, you read that correctly.
There is a theory that you can infer a cat's character based on its paws. We are accustomed to seeing interesting things involving cats coming from Japan (cat cafes, for instance), and this latest trend doesn't surprise us at all.
Predicting kitten personalities based on their paws is fascinating and quintessentially Japanese. Paw reading became popular when Mr. Akatsuki, an enigmatic cat lover and fortune teller (I kid you not), presented his findings regarding the relationship between cat personalities and paw shapes.
Although his approach might not be scientifically accurate, his intention is honorable because he wants to assist prospective cat parents in finding a pet cat whose personality will be a perfect match. He even wrote a book with directions and explanations.
He stated that there are 13 subtypes of cat personalities and five main categories. All of his theories are based on the subtle variations in their jelly beans.

Here are some things to check for if you have a cat and wish to test Mr. Akatsuki's theory:
Can you guess a cat’s character based on its paws?

Type A : Heart-shaped middle jelly bean
They are the real cuddlebugs of the cat world. They are outgoing and friendly, and they enjoy cuddling up to their owners and eating.

Type B : Rounded middle jelly bean
These cats are gregarious and adventurous, and they are adored by both their owners and other cats. They adapt well to multi-cat households and, although not particularly fond of cuddling, they will tolerate your displays of affection.

Type C : Flat-topped middle jelly bean with two side bulges
Type C cats are reserved and prefer to be the only pet in the house. Although they appear to be incredibly Instagrammable, they are supposedly suspicious of strangers.
Their poise and dignified manner make them the epitome of cat models.

Type D : Similar to C type, but less pronounced
These cats don't really have outgoing personalities. They are distant, show little interest in most things, and only tolerate people who have earned their respect in the past.
So, in essence, they are your typical cats.

Type E : Jellybeans form a triangle
These cats are crazy, says the Japanese paw fortune teller, and it's a miracle you ever got a close-up look at their paws.

So, what do you think? Do you believe that a cat’s character is written in its paw?
It certainly is an interesting theory, and it would be great if it were true.
Instead of guessing whether the cat you want to adopt is the right fit for you, you could just take a look at its paws. Sounds too good to be true, right?
Well, if you have a cat, you can put this theory to the test. Check its paws and let us know what you’ve found out.
