Cat Posts Aren't Just For Cats If You Ask This Kid Who Had To Be Rescued By The Fire Department
One Wisconsin family got a lot more than a normal afternoon when a cat scratching post turned into an unexpected rescue scene. Cynthia Olson, a mom from Waukesha County, shared photos of her youngest son after he managed to get his head stuck in one of the platform openings.
She could not lift him out on her own, so the Fire Department stepped in to help. The boy was not hurt, and he seemed to take the whole thing in stride while everyone else tried not to laugh.
It is the kind of mishap that sounds made up until you see the pictures.
Cynthia Olson from Waukesha County, Wisconsin, shared her son’s mishap with the cat scratching post:
She shared the photos with a caption: "Not an actual cat but cat-related... our son got his head stuck in our cat scratching post today and had to have it removed by the fire department. I thought my fellow cat friends would enjoy a little laugh this afternoon!"
Her post received more than 10k likes and 11k shares on Facebook.

Cynthia’s son got his head stuck in the cat scratching post.

That is one way to make a cat tree memorable.
But he wasn’t afraid or bored. He was watching cartoons while he waited for the firemen.

Are the cartoons upside-down?

The trapped kid was amused by the whole situation.

Then the rescue crew showed up and got to work.
And it wasn’t just a fire department rescue, check out the unlikely pawed helper who retrieved a distressed lady’s car keys from a hole.
Plan B is in motion: the firemen arrived.

After some consulting (and chuckling), they developed an action plan…

"We should just pull the kid up."

And the plan worked.

The whole thing ended better than it started.
We can't see the boy’s face here, but we bet it was a fantastic ride for him.

After the incident, mom took a picture of her children with the nice firemen.

People had plenty to say about the rescue.
And this is how people reacted:
