Cats are a unique sort of creature. Anyone who has ever interacted with one knows they’re unpredictable, hilarious, and essentially their own state of matter.
If it’s been many years since a physics class, or maybe you skipped that lesson, a state of matter is one of the distinct forms in which matter can exist. There have been four states of matter observed in everyday life: solid, liquid, gas, and plasma.
I’d like to add one more for consideration: Cats. While they’re obviously a solid matter, some cats are so fluffy they’re practically a gas, and literally, all cats are so freakishly flexible that they’re arguably some sort of liquid.
Comfort for cats can be perplexing for us humans, as they contort themselves into an IKEA pretzel gone wrong, or melt off their pillowy beds. Honestly, if I could stretch in the way that a cat could, I wouldn’t have back problems anymore, cats are goals AF.
