Flexible Furniture Transforms Walls Into Jungle Gyms For Cats While Entertaining Their Playful Instincts
If you are among those pawrents who have a house cat, then you probably already know that it is essential to keep them entertained and active. Sometimes, our kitty companions need more than just standard feline trees and much more than toy mice.
They tend to get bored and are always lurking around, searching for new ways to engage their playful instincts. That is why Mike Wilson and Megan Hanneman came up with their Catastrophic Creations.
Now hold on! Their intention is not to create a catastrophe but to make handcrafted systems that are mounted on walls. This creation is meant to engage the playful instincts inherent in cats.
Each piece in these Catastrophic Creations has a modular design. This simply means that there are unlimited designs that can be made from these unique jungle gyms.
Wilson and Hanneman began building their feline furniture several years ago when they adopted a high-energy desert lynx cat named Ickle. Despite being very charming, their new addition to the family cried continually and, like all little cats, he was incredibly active and began getting into mischief.

Hanneman even made a joke, saying that "one morning we woke up and stumbled into the living room. To our surprise, our new baby kitten had gotten into my toolbox and taken apart our couch, rebuilding it into a cat bridge."
After witnessing that scenario, a brilliant thought came to their minds—"we’ll lock him in a room and start selling all of his creations on Etsy."

If the photographs on the Catastrophic Creations Instagram page are anything to go by, their creations provide endless entertainment for felines, regardless of their age. The kitty clients of the organization are captured running along the feline bridges, climbing up and down the feline trees, and, when they’re completely exhausted, they enjoy a good snooze in cat-sized hammocks.
