Dakota Fanning Makes Sure She Always Has A Memorial Of Her Late Dog With Her
Some keepsakes carry more than memories, they carry the whole story of a bond that never really leaves. Dakota Fanning found one of those keepsakes after losing her first dog, Lewellen, and it has stayed with her ever since.
Fanning has long shared how much Lewellen meant to her, and the necklace she wears now contains some of her late dog's fur. It is a small piece of jewelry with a very personal meaning, tied to a pet she clearly adored and still remembers fondly.

Fanning once shared a photo of herself sitting in a chair with dirty paws on Instagram, writing, “Thought I would share my perfect pup, Lewellen, with you all.”
Another sweet photo shows the pair cuddling in bed and is captioned, “Home with my cotton ball.” Her fans loved both of the pictures so much and seemed incredibly supportive of Fanning and Lewellen's bond, commenting things like, “The classiest dog ever,” and, “Awe, that’s so cute!”

The pendant serves as a constant reminder of how important Lewellen was to Fanning. Last year, she and her sister, Elle Fanning, launched their own production company, Lewellen Pictures.
