Dog Morning For His Best Friend Meets A Tiny Kitten And Immediately Takes Her Under His Wing
Martin had already lost one best friend, so the arrival of a tiny kitten changed everything in an instant. The rescue dog, who had been grieving the loss of his Labrador sister Alma, seemed to light up the moment the new family member came home.
His mom, Emilia Ivan, had found the kitten abandoned nearby and brought her in, unsure how Martin would react. Instead of hesitation, he offered warmth, cuddles, and plenty of licks, and the bond only grew from there.
Then another kitten showed up, and Martin’s role in the house got even bigger. Read on.
Martin lost Alma, his Labrador sister, a year ago. And he was very depressed. His owner brought a kitten home to keep him company.

Martin immediately fell in love and took the kitten under his wing.

Ivan and her boyfriend found a second kitten shortly after bringing the first one home; this one had been left in their yard. “We think she was left there by someone because they saw that we had another kitten,” Ivan said. “She was alone and scared.”
Martin gave the second kitty an equally hospitable welcome. Martin is one of the primary caregivers for the kittens in his household, where they have integrated perfectly.
“He pays a lot of attention to them and takes care of them,” Ivan said. “He behaves like he’s their mother and they’re his daughters.”
That second kitten made the little household feel even fuller.
Watch Martin and his sister:
If given the opportunity to comfortably get to know one another, the majority of cats can coexist with a dog. If a puppy and kitten are raised together, they will typically learn to tolerate one another and even become great friends.
If just one of them is a baby, the other will typically develop parental instincts and act very protective.
This is similar to the father who refused to let his daughter take Milo, the dog she neglected for years.
After finding the first kitten, Ivan found another one. “We think she was left there by someone because they saw that we had another kitten,” she added. “She was alone and scared.”i

“He pays a lot of attention to them and takes care of them,” Ivan said. “He behaves like he’s their mother and they’re his daughters.”

Even Ivan and her partner noticed that Martin's sadness has been considerably alleviated by the kittens' presence. “He almost seems grateful for them,” Ivan said. And seeing Martin interact with the kittens, in turn, has amplified their love for him in ways they couldn’t have anticipated.
“I’ve always loved Martin, but now when I see him taking care of the kittens, how careful and playful he is with them,” Ivan said, “it’s magical.”
Martin found a new purpose, and he is not letting go.
