Adorable Dog Uses Leaves As Currency To Buy Food At School Canteen
Negro is the kind of school dog who figured out a very unusual way to earn a snack. Instead of begging at the canteen, the clever stray started showing up with leaves in his mouth, ready to trade them for cookies.
The black dog lives at the Diversified Technical Education Institute of Monterrey Casanare in Colombia, where staff adopted him and let him roam the grounds. Students already loved buying him treats, but Negro turned the whole routine into his own tiny payment system, and the canteen staff went along with it.
Now his leafy little transactions have made him a campus favorite, and the only question is how long his cookie budget can stay this adorable.
"One day, spontaneously, he appeared with a leaf in his mouth, wagging his tail and making it clear that he wanted a cookie," teacher Angela Garcia Bernal said.

The gorgeous black dog offered his "take it or leaf it" deal to the store attendant.

Amazed by how smart the pup was, the attendant couldn't help but "sell" Negro a treat.

This is also wild like the dog who left owners in shock after eating $4000 in cash.
"He comes for cookies every day," said Gladys Barreto, a longtime store attendant.

"He always pays with a leaf. It is his daily purchase."

The staff decided to allow Negro to buy treats only a couple of times a day to prevent things from getting out of control.

The beautiful dog has left everyone speechless.

"When you first see him, you almost want to cry. He’s found a way to make himself understood. He’s very intelligent," Bernal said.
