Meet The Dog And Cat Couple Who Loves To Go Hiking With Their Humans
Hiking lovers Cynthia Bennett and her boyfriend wanted a furry buddy to enjoy their adventures with. Cynthia was sure she wanted a golden retriever mix dog, but when she arrived at the adoption agency, she experienced love at first sight with Henry.
When she entered his pen, she noticed he was much bigger than the other dogs his age, which was 14 months at that time. Henry loved her as much as she loved him because as soon as she stepped in, he curled up on her lap and exposed his tummy for some scratching. Cynthia knew right then and there that Henry would be going home with her.
“I think we only had him for three days when we took him on our first hike,” Bennett said to The Dodo. “He found the steepest, tallest rock around, and he ran up to the top of it to look over the edge.” Since then, they have been calling him “little mountain goat.”
But Henry needed a buddy, and Cynthia wanted another furball in the house, so they decided to adopt a kitten. They spent five months looking for the perfect little rescue kitten that would fulfill their lives and be a companion to Henry. They finally found a Siamese mix and named him Baloo.
They introduced the two to each other, and they instantly fell in love, starting to play and snuggle with each other. Consequently, Baloo also began to go on hiking adventures with his family. “I get a lot of questions about how we got him used to it. But he really loves it. He really wants to go outside,” Bennett said. “If I touch Henry’s leash, [Baloo] will start screaming at the door.”
