Some rescue stories start with a plan, then take a turn the second a dog curls up in your lap. That is exactly what happened to Cynthia Bennett, who went looking for one kind of hiking buddy and came home with Henry instead.
Henry was bigger than the other puppies his age, and he quickly proved he was happiest outdoors, especially once he started joining Bennett and her boyfriend on trails. Then the household grew again when Baloo, a Siamese mix kitten, entered the picture and bonded with Henry almost immediately.
