Adorable Dog Hoards His New Black Kitten Because He Doesn't Want To Share Play Time
Rex did not just meet the new kitten, he claimed him. The young dog was instantly smitten with Casper, and from that moment on, playtime turned into a one-dog mission to keep the kitten close.
In this sweet household story, Rex is younger and full of energy, which may be exactly why he bonded so quickly with Casper. The problem is that his attachment got a little possessive, and he was not exactly eager to share the kitten with anyone else.
That is where this adorable little standoff begins.
Meet Rex, the dog who fell in love at first sight with this kitten called Casper.
A woman named Colleen Harrison, together with her family, adopted a tiny kitten and named it Casper. They already had dogs, but they weren't sure how those guys would react to the sight of a kitten.
Their dog Minnie is usually the one who loves to mingle with tiny animals, but much to their surprise, it was actually their other dog Rex that fell in love at first sight when he saw Casper.

Rex is a lot younger than Minnie and loves to fool around and just play, so maybe the reason why he liked Casper was because they had too much of the same energy.
They love to just goof around and dive into some cuddles when they're not doing anything. However, whenever someone tries to play or touch Casper, it seemed like Rex wasn't too happy about it.

“At first, Rex didn't like anyone coming near the kitten,” Harrison told The Dodo.
“He was very protective of him. He's the same way with our children. Anytime the kitten or our kids are out of Rex's sight or in another room he can't get to, he just sits close by whining for them.”
Sometimes, while the pair would snuggle up together and snooze, Rex would try to "protect" his feline friend from the rest of the family. However, Casper is too wiggly and active to stay hidden, despite Rex's efforts.

Rex was not interested in sharing Casper with anyone else.
This is similar to a rescued cat joining a Husky pack after their owner saved it from the streets.
Rex loves his new kitten so much that he doesn't really get excited whenever someone tries to approach it for playtime. He just didn't want to share Casper with anyone else!
Fortunately, he seems to be slowly growing comfortable with the idea of Casper hanging out with everyone else—as long as he gets his rightful alone time with him.

“Rex doesn't mind others holding or playing with the kitten now, but he does keep an eye on him at all times,” Harrison said.
It's a good thing that they immediately became best friends because they are such a beautiful sight to see together! We, together with their family, are sure excited to see how they would grow up together.
