Dog Gets Into An Argument With His Hooman As He Refuses To Go Inside Because He Loves The Rain So Much
Some dogs love a walk, some love a treat, and some would rather stay outside in the rain than head back in. This husky falls squarely into that last group, and his stubborn little protest has people laughing online.
In a TikTok video, his mom tries to call him inside because it is raining, but he keeps whining back as if he has a very different plan. The back-and-forth makes it look like the pair are having a real argument, even though he is clearly just determined to enjoy the weather a little longer.
With thousands of likes and comments, Nikko's rainy-day standoff has become a surprisingly relatable moment. Read on.
Meet Nikko.
“He loves to be outside, and I had let him out since it was still on the cooler side,” Nikko’s mom, Misty Harmon, said to The Dodo. “I had not realized it had started to rain until the news came on and the weather was talking about storms moving in. I do not allow him outside during storms, so I went to call him in.”
Nikko is usually obedient and well-behaved; it just so happened that on this very night, when the moment was caught on video, he seemed to be throwing a kind of fit and kept refusing his mom's orders.
“He was definitely telling me ‘no’ and ‘I don't want to,’” Harmon said. “Thankfully, when I put my shoes on to go outside, he figured out he wasn't going to win. If I had to come out in the rain, it would result in no treats. He chose to come in.”

While the interaction was definitely funny, Harmon says that Nikko's antics aren't really that surprising since he's a dog who often likes to ensure that his opinions are always known and heard. He is definitely one of a kind.
“He usually has at least one tantrum a day,” Harmon said. “It can be anything from being told ‘no,’ me not moving fast enough [as we’re] getting ready to go, or him just not wanting to do what he is told.”
That is one very opinionated husky.
It’s a similar standoff to when a cat dad told a mom to get rid of her dog, and she refused.
Funnily enough, Nikko actually hates taking a bath!
He also does not like swimming, so this whole argument about staying in the rain makes it a lot funnier. He doesn't even like water!
“While he is extremely stubborn and loves getting his way like a typical husky, he is also very sweet and caring,” Harmon said. “He is obviously very talkative and strong-willed, but such a sweet dog in other ways. He keeps me laughing—even when he is throwing a tantrum.”
Even with the rain, he still has his limits.
“I joke all the time that I have a perpetual toddler that talks back like a teenager,” Harmon said. “[But] I would not have it any other way.”
Of course, being an adorable dog definitely has its perks, including being excused for behavior that would have otherwise been pegged as rebellious if he were a child! Just look at his photos; who would dare be mad at him?
