Sweet Dog Loves Nothing More Than Cheering Up People On The Subway
Cosmo, a 2-year-old Italian greyhound, has turned an ordinary subway ride into a small burst of joy for strangers in London. While most commuters keep their eyes down and their distance, this little dog seems determined to make friends with everyone in sight.
His owner, Megan Lane, says Cosmo loves greeting passengers, soaking up attention, and offering comfort to people who look like they could use a lift. From coffee cups to business suits, no one seems immune to his charm, and that includes Lane herself, who says he has been a steady companion through a difficult time.
On the Underground, Cosmo is not just along for the ride, he is the main event. Read on.
Cosmo, a 2-year-old Italian greyhound, loves cheering up people on the subway.
Most people are eager to offer him the affection he needs (or is it the other way around?). Cosmo is something like a London Underground therapy dog.

“I love taking him on the train with me because he always lights up people’s day,” says Megan Lane, Cosmo’s mom. “He wants to be friends with everyone he meets.”

Cosmo has also helped his mom during a rough period in her life.

“I got him when I was heartbroken and very scared to be living alone for the first time in my life,” Lane said. “He’s been the best company and my little mate.

“I got him when I was heartbroken and very scared to be living alone for the first time in my life,” Lane said. “He’s been the best company and my little mate. He sleeps under the covers on my legs.”
Cosmo is on a quest to brighten everyone's day, whether he's hugging his mom at home or cuddling with a new best friend he just met. He sets the bar high by consistently demonstrating that even the most introverted commuters occasionally appreciate running into a complete stranger on the train.
