Badass But Terrifyingly Adorable Dragon Lookalike Is Called The Armadillo Lizard

We all love dragons but perceiving them as cute was never really a thing until this adorable fella came along. A lot of people perceive some animals as cute, but they often turn out to be quite dangerous, lizards fit into that category pretty well.

The Armadillo Lizard is a South African reptile that shares a lot of similarities with the typical "mythical dragon". He recently became an internet sensation after a lot of people compared him to several iconic characters on television, like the popular dragon from Game Of Thrones, Drogon.

Their armor-like bodies allow them to reside in the mountains and make it easier for them to not be spotted by predators. Their whole lives depend on their ability to avoid predators, and through the years, they have developed the ability to stay amazingly still for hours or roll out of danger.

Armadillo Lizards have a Latin name, Ouroborus Cataphractus aside from their common name. Its direct translation is the "Golden Armadillo Lizard".

Their colors are also not strict. The lizards have been seen in various colors ranging from deep yellows to dark browns.

Some of them are also found in a mesmerizing pale color like the one bellow.

Armadillo Lizards can grow up to four inches in their up to 10-years lifespan. Unlike other reptiles, These cute tiny dragons do not lay eggs like other reptiles, they give birth around 1-2 times per year instead.

Sadly, these gorgeous creatures are an endangered species and things will stay the same as long as humans continue to capture and abduct them to eventually sell them illegally as pets in online markets and auctions.
