Adorable Baby Elephant Calf Refuses To Go To Sleep No Matter How Much Coaxing They Give It
This baby elephant calf, Kinyei, went viral for one very relatable reason: she simply refused bedtime. While most kids eventually surrender to sleep, this little troublemaker acted like going to bed was a personal attack.
At a rescue group in Kenya, wildlife caretakers tried everything, offering evening milk bottles and letting her settle in with her best friends nearby. The nursery was quieting down, the routine was set, and Kinyei still looked around like, “Nope, not tonight.” Then she did the unthinkable, she climbed right through her chance to protest bedtime.
It’s the kind of stubborn, adorable chaos that makes you wonder what she’s planning instead of sleep.
We've all been in a situation or heard of a situation where a kid just doesn't seem to want to go to sleep at all.
An adorable elephant calf went viral online after refusing to go to sleep, despite her wildlife caretakers' attempts to convince her. At a rescue group in Kenya, this little elephant felt like she had better plans than going to sleep.

The famous elephant's name is Kinyei, and we hope to see much more of her.
The footage shows the elephant trying to persuade her caretaker that sleeping isn't a great option right now and that she'd rather do something else.

“Kinyei is simply not ready to go to sleep,” the group wrote in the video description. “She’s had her evening milk bottles, her best friends are already tucked in next door, and all around her, the nursery is quieting down… But this fun-loving girl saw her window of opportunity to protest bedtime — and she climbed right through it!”

Here's the full original video that stirred up the internet featuring this beautiful little baby.
In the video, you can see that they provide a little insight into the elephant's life and upbringing. She was rescued at the perfect time three years ago when a driver spotted her approaching a group of lions.
The situation could have ended much worse than it did, but luckily she was saved, and here she is today.
The moment Kinyei’s caretakers lined up her usual evening milk bottles, she acted like bedtime was the only thing on the menu.
This is similar to the kitten that nodded off while sitting.
With her best friends already tucked in next door, Kinyei made it clear she was not interested in joining the quiet nursery routine.
That’s when her “sleep negotiation” turned into a full-on escape plan, she climbed right through her window of opportunity to protest bedtime.
And knowing she was rescued three years ago after a driver spotted her approaching lions makes her tiny rebellion hit even harder.
We are so happy to see that this elephant is thriving, but we do hope that she gets some rest soon after trying to persuade her caretaker that a nap wasn't in the cards. Ultimately, we love to see baby animal videos, and we're thrilled to be able to share this adorable video with you all today.
Kinyei might be adorable, but she’s definitely not ready to trade her nighttime plans for sleep.
