This story about a dog who became a hero takes place in Bangkok, Thailand. The dog was just walking the streets, trying to find someone to ask for food.
He was wandering around, and when he looked in the trash can, he found something unexpected.
It also reminds us of the near-drowning stray puppy rescued and adopted by his savior.
When the dog was near the can, he heard a squeaky sound, much like that of a young kitten. For some reason, the dog felt compelled to grab the bundle with his mouth and drag it with him.
Nobody knows exactly how long he dragged the package, but the dog eventually delivered it to the doorstep of a nearby house. When he set down the package, he barked and barked in front of the house.
Naturally, the loud noise disturbed the people inside, prompting them to go outside to check. They were taken aback by the sight of a newborn infant, already breathing weakly, and even more so when they realized it was the dog who delivered the baby to them.
They dialed 911, and soon enough, an ambulance arrived. They took the infant to the intensive care unit.
Now that the child is safe and sound in the hospital, the dog has been given the name Pugh and rewarded with a lifeguard collar. The baby wouldn't have survived if it weren't for him!
This story goes to show that we should never underestimate the power of empathy and love, whether they come from a human or an animal. We truly hope that Pugh the hero will soon find a forever home to return to!
