Jason Momoa Did A Purr-fect Photo Shoot For Esquire And We're Totally Swooning
Jason Momoa has a way of making even a cat photo shoot feel larger than life. When Esquire put him in front of the camera with kittens and cats, the result was equal parts rugged and ridiculously adorable.
That mix fits Momoa pretty well. Beyond the blockbuster roles and the tough-guy image, he has built a reputation as a devoted dad, stepdad, husband, and animal lover, which makes this whole moment feel very on brand.
And once the scrunchie, the axes, and the sci-fi buzz enter the picture, it gets even better.
Momoa is unapologetically passionate about the environment as well as animals.

Jason is also known to be totally down-to-earth, unfazed by the chaos that comes with being a wealthy celebrity. Instead, he often reflects on being grateful to Hollywood for the opportunity to provide a good life for his family.

It's also pretty common to see Momoa with a scrunchie around his wrist. A scrunchie is similar to a regular hair tie, except it has some extra bunched-up fabric over it for a more aesthetic appearance. For his interview with Esquire, they challenged Momoa to put the scrunchie in his hair, as the act of doing so was something not many had the privilege of seeing before.
That was great.

He may not look it, but Momoa is in his 40s now, and according to him, his rise to fame hasn't been all that easy.

It was in 1999 when Momoa got his first real gig playing in Baywatch Hawaii.

It’s giving the same cozy devotion as America’s Most Dedicated Cat Dads and their beloved felines.
However, it was his role as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones that propelled him quickly to the hunky fame he is associated with today.

His wife, Lisa Bonet, is his childhood crush, and he is totally crazy about her. Together, they have beautiful children, and Jason is committed to spending as much time as possible with them! When he isn't traveling for work or filming, he is with his kids. He is also always singing the praises of his stepdaughter, Zoe Kravitz.

It's no surprise to see Momoa enjoying quality beer and throwing hatchets, either.

In fact, it's pretty common for talk show hosts to have Momoa entertain the crowds by throwing axes for their amusement.
The thing is, Momoa comes off as this genuinely humble sort of dude, just doing his best to be a good dad, husband, and friend. He's using his star power to advocate for the Earth, and who could complain about that?

Esquire asked Jason about his rise to fame, and he responded in his typical humble fashion:
"I think of Brad Pitt as a movie star. You know what I mean? Like George Clooney is a movie star. Those guys are like, boom.
"I would never be able to handle what he does," Momoa said, reflecting on how his career had a slower burn.
"He’s so fucking talented, man. I don’t know. I’m a little dumber, needed some time. Which is probably the best for me, because it would have been bad if it happened when I was younger. I just would have fucked it all up."
"
What's going on now and what's next for Jason Momoa?

Well, there is no shortage of rumors, some confirmed, some not. Supposedly, he’ll be starring in a remake of the 1993 film Cliffhanger. He's also been cast in the reboot of Dune. Of course, we are all excited about the next Aquaman installment as well!
But it's his leading role in AppleTV's futuristic sci-fi thriller See that people are currently pumped about. Momoa plays Baba Voss, a fearless warrior, leader, and guardian. Sounds right up his alley, doesn't it?
You'll get no complaints from us. The more Momoa, the merrier.
