Man Brought a Llama to His Sister's Wedding, and Understandably, She Was Not Impressed
Sibling rivalries can be harmless right up until someone decides to turn a long-running joke into a wedding-day surprise. In this case, one brother promised years ago that he would bring a llama to his sister’s wedding, and he actually followed through when the big day arrived.
What started as a joke in 2015 turned into a very real animal cameo, complete with photos, family reactions, and a Reddit thread that quickly connected the dots. The bride was not exactly thrilled, but the internet was very entertained.
Now the only question is whether this was the funniest sibling prank ever, or one of the most chaotic wedding gifts of all time.
u/DJ117Xx posted, "5 years ago, I promised my sister I would bring a llama to her wedding."
Which seems like a funny joke, right?
It started as a joke, as his sister wasn't dating anyone back in 2015 when he came up with his plan.
Mendl Weinstock has been working on his plan for years.
When talking to Insider, Mendl said:
"My sister was talking about her wedding as if it were tomorrow, when she wasn’t even dating anyone at the time.
Just to make her mad and get a reaction, I told her that if she made me come to the wedding, I would bring a llama with me. After a few minutes of arguing, she tried to use reverse psychology on me and said, ‘OK, the llama is invited to the wedding.’"

His sister elaborates by saying:
"When he sets his mind to something, he makes it happen. Literally, I called him to tell him I was engaged, and his response was, ‘Great, I’m calling the llama farm now.’
Probably not even an hour later, I got a text that said his llama rental was confirmed."

And he pulled through!

Riva said of the picture:
"I promised him that I would take one picture. I said, ‘I will not stand next to the llama, I will not touch the llama, but I will take one picture.’
My friends can attest that I went outside, took exactly one picture, and then went right back inside, having no more of it."
This llama stunt is wild, but it pales next to the groom who banned his sister’s dog and triggered a full family feud.
That wedding photo came with a very firm limit.
In the comments of the Reddit post, user ToniTheSmall noticed something strange...
"I saw a post recently requesting dimensions for an adult llama in regards to making a tuxedo... I thought, 'surely not'... now I know."
Turns out the tuxedo clue was the giveaway.
Mendl's friend previously posted in the "No stupid questions" thread asking about llama dimensions.
"I've been hired to make a tuxedo for a llama, and I don't have its measurements. I'm also assuming the llama is male.
The measurements needed are: length of legs from just above the hoof (ankle?) to the bottom of the torso, height from the bottom of the torso to the back of the neck, distance around the neck, and width across the shoulders.
Thank you!"

This is (weirdly) not the only llama to have ever attended a wedding.
In fact, there's a whole Instagram account dedicated to them.
What do you think? Will a llama be a special guest at your wedding?
