This Adorable Stray Dog Asked A Woman To Adopt Him While She Was On Her Birthday Trip
A birthday road trip turned into something Brianna Hagood never expected, all because a stray dog in a McDonald’s parking lot decided to make his move.
What started as a quick stop for food turned into an instant adoption moment, with her husband, a cashier, and a very determined pup all playing a part. The dog had no collar, no owner in sight, and no interest in staying behind once Hagood opened the car door.
By the end of the weekend, the story had taken another surprising turn, and Blu’s future was no longer up in the air.
1. As soon as she opened the car's door, the dog jumped in by himself and looked determined to go with them.
“Tyler got our food, pulled out of the drive-through, and parked the car next to where I was sitting with the good boy. I opened the car door and asked if he wanted to come in, and before I finished asking, he had jumped into my car and was sitting down…
There was never a decision for me. When I got out of my car, I knew I was not leaving this pup on the side of the road,” continued Hagood.
That was the moment the trip stopped being ordinary.
2. Despite the dog's decision to come with them, they needed to ask around to find out if anyone knew the dog's owners so they could return him. But no one knew.

3. On their way to the resort, they stopped at the vet clinic to check if the dog had a microchip, but he didn't have one.

4. So the next step was buying him food and supplies for the upcoming weekend.

5. They were planning to take their newest puppy with them on the trip, so they had booked a pet-friendly room. Everything went as planned, or as it was supposed to happen.
6. They all settled into a hotel room, and their new furry friend was well-behaved, as if he had known them all his life.
“While I was brushing my teeth and getting ready for bed, I heard Tyler playing with him. When I walked out of the bathroom, Tyler had invited the pup onto the bed, and he was snuggling with him…
Although this may not have been his ideal weekend, he knew it was mine, and he knew I would not have had a good time if I was worried about a pup,” said Hagood.

Their birthday getaway had officially become a three-dog weekend.
7. The next day, the three of them spent the whole day together. Hagood also posted their photos online, and then the dog's original family contacted her.
Hagood returned the dog on their way home and discovered that his name was Blu. He had run away from the yard while his owners were at work.
Hagood didn't want to leave him, but she was happy that his actual owners had been found.
So that was the right thing to do. After they had reunited Blu with his family, they went home, but the story wasn't over yet.

Soon enough, the dog's family got in touch again with Hagood and said that Blu was extremely sad about being separated from her. They asked Hagood to adopt him due to the connection they had developed in such a short time.
Hagood couldn't be happier, so they arranged everything, and after all, the universe said it was her dog.
“Blu came to our home on Thursday, and he fits right in. He stays right by my hip at all times… He is the best boy, and we love him.”
Blu clearly knew where he belonged.
