Rescuers Discover This Mama Dog Carried All 13 Of Her Precious Puppies To An Incredible Hiding Place Despite Having A Broken Leg
Moms are some of the best people in the world. They might set the rules around the house, and they might be a little too overconcerned at times, but for many, their moms will always be their safe haven.
Their moms will always be the person they first run to, and their moms will be the first person they'll run to protect. That's because everything that many moms do for their kids is filled with love, even if they don't say it with words.
Even with animals, moms are just amazing. They would do everything to keep their babies safe, well-fed, and prepared for the world that lies beyond them, even if they are suffering from something.
They always put their babies first in the face of trouble, more than anything else. And they would give their lives just to make sure their babies live on.
Just take a look at this mother dog in our story today. She gave birth to 13 healthy pups, and she needed to take them to a safer hiding place.
Unfortunately, she had a broken leg. Still, that didn't stop her from taking all her pups to somewhere safer.

When the rescuers from Stray Rescue of St. Louis found a female dog with an injured foot, they thought they would be rescuing just one dog at that time. They didn't know that they were about to save more than just one.
When they picked up the female dog, they immediately noticed that she was producing milk. That's when they realized that the dog was a new mama and that she had puppies somewhere nearby.
With that, they knew they had to act quickly to find the puppies and take them to safety.
The rescuers immediately went to the underbrush where the mama dog was reportedly living. They pushed branches aside and crawled under the bushes, looking for the pups until they finally discovered a little den deep underground.
Despite her injury, the mama dog dug a hole deep enough in the ground to create a safe haven for her pups, where they were all safe and warm. The best part is that there weren't just a few pups, but thirteen!
The rescuers then placed all the pups one by one in a plastic container and brought them back to their mom so they could all be taken to the clinic at the same time. There, they received all the medical care that they needed.
After a thorough examination, the vets said that the mom needed to undergo surgery for her injured leg. Her puppies, on the other hand, will be spayed and neutered and then put up for adoption once they are old enough.
For now, Stray Rescue of St. Louis is looking for people or families who would be willing to foster the puppies until they find their forever homes. They also offer classes and have more information on their website.
