Monkey Is A Cute Vampire Cat And He Certainly Has The Personality To Match His Fangs
Monkey did not start out as an Instagram-famous cat with vampire fangs, but his story is hard to forget. One night in 2010, a sick black kitten threw himself in front of Nicole Rienzie's car, and that split-second moment changed both of their lives.
Nicole was already dealing with grief, chronic pain, and a rough stretch that left her needing something to hold onto. Monkey, who was first known as Sergio, became that unexpected lifeline, and as he grew into his goofy personality, his long fangs made him even more unforgettable.
Now the pair are inseparable, and Monkey's latest antics keep their story just as entertaining as ever. Read on.
One night in 2010, Nicole was at her lowest after losing her father and a very close friend while also experiencing extreme chronic pain from a car crash she had been in. So, it's safe to say she was down and out, and she needed someone to rescue her.
That is where Monkey comes in; he helped her heal and fill her heart with love again.
But Monkey didn't always have a human who loved him, and he wasn't always Instagram famous.
When Nicole first adopted him, his name was Sergio, but as he healed and grew stronger, his goofy personality came to the surface, and that's when she gave him the name Monkey.
And if you’re thinking of comfort after rejection, a baby monkey rejected by his mother cuddling a stuffed animal will hit the same heartstrings.
"He climbed, jumped, and swung from everything like a monkey," Nicole said. About a year after she adopted him, she realized something strange: Monkey began to grow these amazing fangs, and boy, did they match his goofy personality perfectly.
At first, Nicole was scared that his fangs would hurt him or affect his eating because they are so long, but fortunately, her vet set her mind at ease by telling her that it is just one more thing that makes Monkey special.
Ever since that first night they met, they have been saving each other every single day. Nicole provides Monkey with a safe haven and loads of love, while Monkey keeps her happy by making her laugh 24/7.
And apparently, Monkey is up to his tricks again because his new thing is shredding toilet paper!
