Cats are pretty much known for their retractable claws, probably in part because they’re one of the few species of animals who can retract their claws. But more likely because either their claws have been used on our delicate skin or furniture.

If you’ve ever been under attack or shooed a cat away from tearing up your couch, you might have gotten a good look at their claws and how they work. While a cat's paws and toe-beans are undeniably adorable and cute, those claws can inflict some major damage.

Those danger beans inspired the perfect name: Murder Mittens. And of course, as there seems to be for most things on the internet, there’s a whole subreddit dedicated to Murder Mittens.

There, Redditors share pictures of cats and kittens showing off their claws so we can enjoy these adorable doom-paws but from the safety of our homes. These photos show that cats of all sizes, ages, and breeds can be just as deadly as they are cute.

Over time it seems the subreddit has evolved to highlight the smallest floofy kittens as they put on their fiercest display to appear big and scary with their very tiny teeth and itsy bitsy pointy claws. Because somehow kittens are even cuter when trying to be scary. 

Of course, there are plenty of grown-up cats shared, too. No matter how dangerous these kitties might be with their Murder Mittens, they are still the cutest ever.
