Neighbor Dogs Caught On Camera Giving Back Scratches Through A Fence

Two neighbor dogs turned a fence line into their own little hangout, and the result was equal parts funny and oddly sweet.

Beaù, a playful Staffordshire bull terrier, and Rocco, the dog next door, formed a friendship that quickly became the kind of thing people love to watch unfold. What started as casual curiosity turned into a daily routine, with one pup apparently giving the other a very unusual kind of attention.

By the time the videos started making the rounds, the whole thing had become impossible to ignore. Read on.

Beaù, at only 8 months old, was already being described as a dog who knows how to get what she wants.

In an interview with The Dodo, Kayleigh said:

“She’s so hyper all the time and loves snuggles. [She’s] super friendly with all the neighbors' dogs, but has a soft spot for Rocco.”

Rocco, a small neighbor dog, had been longtime pals with Burrowes' previous dog companion, Jak, who passed away of old age.

In an interview with The Dodo, Kayleigh said:

Beaù, a playful Staffordshire bull terrier, was much bigger than Jak and Rocco, but her disposition cheered Rocco right up.

Burrowes said:

“She met him as soon as she was allowed outside, and they automatically clicked. [Rocco] really missed Jak as they were very close, so Beaù made it easier.”

The fence quickly became their favorite meeting spot.

This is the same kind of comfort Beaù gives Rocco, like the lamb rejected by its mom who bonded with a dog.

The extent of their bond was unknown to Burrowes for a few months until one day she saw the two interacting through the fence:

“One day, I was sitting on my sofa, and I looked out the patio door, and Rocco was massaging Beaù! I thought I was seeing things for a second, but now they won’t stop.”

That was the moment the whole thing went from cute to completely hilarious.

Finding the whole thing absolutely hysterical, Burrowes got her phone out as quickly as possible and snapped a couple of videos that she then shared on Facebook.

It turns out Kayleigh wasn't the only one to find the whole thing hilarious; the video went viral. And now? It's just another day for the doggy duo. Burrowes said:

“The massaging could go on for as long as Beaù wants him to... It's a daily thing now.”

Some friendships are just a little more hands-on than others.

If you're wondering, no, Beaù doesn't massage Rocco back. She shows her adoration for her friend in other ways.

Kayleigh told The Dodo that if she didn't call Beaù back inside, the two would sit out there indefinitely next to each other:

“When he stops, she paws at him to do it back.
They are best friends — little and large.”
