This Nosy Dog Created His Own Way To Watch The Neighbors' Dogs Play
Some dogs are perfectly happy watching the world go by, but Fuzz had other plans. When Melody Eby and her husband noticed the neighbors' dogs peeking through the chain-link fence in South Bend, Indiana, it turned into an unexpected backyard routine.
Then a tall wooden fence went up, and the view disappeared. For most dogs, that would have been the end of it, but the little crew next door found a workaround that was equal parts determined and adorable.
Fuzz was not about to miss out on the fun.
If they couldn't see through, and couldn't see over, the only way left is UNDER!
In no time at all, the dogs next door were digging under the fence to watch Eby's dogs play. But how would Eby's dogs, a Husky named Fuzz and a mixed breed named Maui, react? “I was out with the dogs playing one day, and I just did a double take,” Eby said in an interview. “I saw two little eyes poking out from underneath the fence looking up at us.”
Fuzz was all for making new friends!
Once Fuzz realized the little dog was there, he began to dig on Eby's side of the fence and soon made a hole big enough for the tiny dogs to put their heads through.
“There are a few of them, all about the same breed, and they all take turns sticking their heads under the fence,” Eby said. “They’ll bark, and Maui gets really excited.”

The neighbors were not giving up that easily.
The dogs became quick friends.
Eby's neighbor works nights, so, unfortunately, the two humans don't know each other very well at this point, but the dogs seem to be getting along swimmingly! The group of pups has never met anywhere but at the fence, but Eby thinks the dogs next door are just as friendly as her own; they even bring gifts through to show their willingness to play! She says: “At first, we didn’t know what to do.”
“But now the dogs have come to expect them whenever we’re outside. They’ll even stand over there waiting for them to come say hello.”

That little fence line turned into a whole new game.
This is the same kind of “surprise buddy” moment as the dog who returned with a cute cow companion.
It's only a matter of time...
“They’ve thrown their toys under to our side of the yard,” Eby said. “Every so often, Fuzz will come inside with a toy we’ve never seen before.”
She thinks that with how much the dogs play and how often the hole is used, it won't be long until the smaller dogs just come over for a visit.

Now everyone is waiting to see what happens next.
And so they're all waiting patiently
“It’d be pretty hilarious if the dogs end up coming over,” Eby said. “There’s been so much buildup to that moment that I think it’d just be one big puppy party.”
I say bring it on! Everyone loves a good puppy party, and after all that hard work it took, they totally deserve it.
