Darker Than The Night - This Adorable Pitch Black Cat Looks Like a Walking Shadow With Eyes
Black cats get a lot of unfair side-eye, but MeonJi is making a strong case for the opposite. In Daejeon, South Korea, this 4-year-old Scottish Fold has turned his pitch-black coat into a full-time magic trick.
His owner, Kim Aerin, says MeonJi means "dust" in Korean, though this little shadow is anything but forgettable. Between his bright eyes, tiny fangs, and habit of disappearing into dark corners, he has become a social media favorite with more than 356K Instagram followers.
He looks like a floating pair of eyes one moment, then a mischievous house cat the next, and that contrast is exactly why people cannot stop watching him.
Meet MeonJi, a 4-year-old Scottish Fold cat
He lives in Daejeon, South Korea, with his mom
His name means "dust" in Korean
His mom describes him as "the blackest but brightest cat."
"I’m not going to lie, I really wasn't originally interested in black cats, but as soon as I saw my cat, I completely fell in love with them," reveals Aerin, his mom.
"If you asked me now, I’d tell you they're the best," she continues.
"MeonJi can be a totally cute cat one day, and the next day he is either very sensitive or completely the opposite—full-on feisty."
The wonderfully silly black cat has been compared to Toothless, the Night Fury dragon from the How to Train Your Dragon franchise, due to his large eyes and little fangs.

MeonJi's pupils widen when he's happy, which is pretty much all the time, just like the beloved cartoon dragon.
