This Family Decided To Capture Their Pup's Six Month Growth Spurt And Boy Did He Grow
Puppies do not stay little for long, and Bear, a young Akita in the Schweiger family, proved it in the cutest way possible. What started as a sweet photo idea turned into a six-month timeline of just how fast a fluffy pup can turn into a giant cuddle bug.
Danielle Schweiger and her husband wanted to document Bear's growth from tiny puppy to much bigger family dog, using the same pose each month to show the change. The result is a simple but striking look at how quickly a new pet can go from lap-sized to nearly impossible to lift.
By the end of the photo series, Bear was barely recognizable from his first picture, and the family had a keepsake they will probably never stop talking about. Read on.

The Schweigers really wanted to capture their pup's quick transformation from puppy to a big fluffy teddy bear, so they decided to start a photography project where they captured every moment of his growth spurts.
They saw it as a cute way to show that he would always be their baby, no matter how big he got. It all started with a photo of 10-month-old Bear in Danielle's arms, and slowly but surely, he got a bit heavier.

They decided to take the photos monthly in the same position, and you can see at three months, little Bear was almost as big as Danielle.

And well, at six months, you wouldn't say it's the same doggie.

When Danielle looks back at the photos now, she is amazed by how fast her pup grew. These past six months have flown by, and that is what makes it all the more precious.
And she's not the only one getting used to Bear's size. He is completely unaware of his size. He constantly knocks me over or tries to fit in my lap!
And if you love transformation stories, this photographer’s 22 senior-dog photos celebrate years of love and loyalty.

Even though Bear looks bigger and more intimidating, he is still the kind, gentle soul they brought home on the very first day.

What we have enjoyed the most is watching Bear grow into his incredible personality. We feel incredibly blessed to have a noble protector, loving family member, and all-around best friend.

"We fondly reflect on our first six months with Bear, and delightfully look forward to many years ahead."

Bear's glow-up was fast, but the family clearly loved every minute of it.
