Video Of Golden Retriever Puppies Holding Hands During Playtime Has Gone Viral
Billie, a 4-month-old golden retriever, went to puppy play hour and ended up with a best friend almost immediately. For a breed known for being friendly, that part is hardly shocking, but the way it happened is what made people stop and watch.
His owner, Emily Buchenberger, brought him to a session where puppies between 8 and 18 weeks old can run around off leash in a gymnasium. Amid all the jumping, running, and chaos, the golden retrievers found each other and stuck together like they had known one another forever.
What happened next turned a cute playdate into a viral moment.
“The goldens have similar play styles, so they immediately clicked,” Buchenberger told the reporters. “There might as well not have been the other 15 puppies at puppy hour because the goldens were attached to each other like glue.”
Instead of running around with the other dogs, the young golden retrievers formed their own club. They gathered under different play objects, where they remained under the radar of the other dogs.
“Most puppies ran around or jumped onto the objects, but not the goldens,” Buchenberger says. “They almost exclusively played with each other underneath the objects in secrecy.”
To be exact, they did that until the owner of one of the other dogs revealed what they had been doing the whole time:
That is when the hiding game became the cutest part of the whole story.
And if you thought puppy play was sweet, this golden adopts a dad role for four rescue bunnies.
They looked like they were holding hands.
“We found them all calmly interlocking paws,” Buchenberger said. “They definitely were not expecting to be exposed and immediately dispersed. Soon after, they met back up underneath the bridge to secretly play.”
At home, Billie loves hiding under the furniture and wherever possible, especially if a bone or other things dogs like are involved.
Billie’s hiding game with his new friends just shows how much they like each other, and they will probably stay friends for life.
And that is probably not the last time Billie steals the spotlight.
