Couple's Viral Video Shows A Live Rat Hiding Away In A House Plant That Has Been Put Up For Sale At Home Depot
The Home Depot is quite popular, selling numerous valuable items for your home and garden. Parents love it, DIY enthusiasts praise it, and many others support it.
However, one thing that isn't typically found on the shelves at The Home Depot is a live rodent. Yes, you read that correctly – rats, and I mean wild, living rats.
Imagine going to pick up a plant without knowing that you're also getting an extra occupant who won’t be paying rent. Well, a certain Dr. Helen Fisher, biological anthropologist, notes, “Unexpected encounters with wildlife can evoke a range of emotions, from surprise to concern.” This sentiment resonates with many who have experienced similar situations.
It happened that the couple had just moved back to California and needed to get a few things, so they rushed to Home Depot. While they were there, the man noticed something unusual in the plant trees available for sale, and it didn’t seem right.
He initially assumed that it might be a fake, but when that thought failed to convince him, he realized what he was looking at. It was an undeniably enormous rat that was tangled in one of the trees.
It’s quite understandable that individuals who frequently visit places that sell lumber are accustomed to seeing mice and other small rodents, as these little vermin like to gnaw on the wood. However, it's not so common to see one of these rodents set up camp on the highest point of a small house plant tree.
In the video, you will only see one rat, but the TikToker claims that there were several rodents running around.
Here's the first video
This particular rat was the easiest to see since it was at the highest point of the tree, just like the star one would place on a Christmas tree. Rats are exceptionally intelligent creatures, and many people find them to be extremely cute.
The TikToker mentions that his wife actually attempted to get the rat out and help it, as it appeared to be a pet rat that someone had either lost or allowed to get lost. The TikToker, on the other hand, didn't want to approach the rat just in case it was actually a wild street rat, which could pose a risk to contact.
Numerous rat experts flooded the comments, pointing out that the rat appears to have an upper respiratory infection, and one person even claimed that those particular trees are extremely poisonous to rats.

In fact, the TikToker agrees that it seems to be a pet rat rather than a street rat, yet the fact remains that he is no professional and didn't want to take any risks. The two videos ended without revealing what happened to the rat.
Should we call this a Daisy situation or what? Some people wouldn’t know what to do if they saw a big rat hanging on a tree in a public place such as Home Depot.
Well, I guess some would make a report, but what would you do in that position? Would you act as the husband, the wife, or another person entirely?
