Wonderful Photos Capture The Soft Side Of Red Foxes
Red foxes do not always get the soft, affectionate reputation they deserve, but these photos tell a different story. Wildlife photographer Roeselien Raimond has spent years capturing their quieter side, and her latest images focus on the close bonds foxes form with one another.
Based in the Netherlands, Raimond has been photographing foxes in nature for more than a decade. The more time she spends observing them, the more she notices how much personality, tenderness, and family connection can show up in their daily lives.

This tender bond echoes the lion who stayed beside an ailing mate until her final moments.
Roeselien Raimond, the photographer, is based in The Netherlands.
And she adores these creatures.
“Foxes are highly intelligent animals with a mind of their own,” she says.
“They have a whole range of behaviors and personal choices.”
“They continuously adapt to circumstances we might not be aware of.”
“That makes it really hard to predict them.”
“It's said that a male and female fox bond for life, and from what I've seen, this may well be true,” she concludes.
While we don't know the exact relationship between the foxes in the photos, it's evident that they have a special bond and wish to display their love for one another through physical contact.
“Siblings sometimes continue to socialize well into adulthood. And even within these relationships, there is still a lot of affection,” the photographer concludes.
