Couple From Silver Lake Offers A $5,000 Reward For The Return Of Their Stolen Dog
A Silver Lake couple is holding out hope for a small holiday miracle after their elderly dog was stolen from their car. To bring him home, they are offering a $5,000 reward for the return of Soybean, a 16-year-old Boston Terrier who is deaf and has only one eye.
The theft happened about a week ago near Sunset Boulevard and Occidental Boulevard, where someone smashed the car window and took the dog along with a laptop and other belongings. Soybean’s owners say they only stepped away because he was sleeping peacefully in the backseat.
Now they are racing against time, and every lead matters.
At that moment, the owners were at a nearby restaurant. The only reason they left him in the backseat of the car was that he was sleeping peacefully, and they didn’t want to disturb him.
"We're hoping this substantial amount will encourage people to be proactive in the search. We're doing everything we can, and he's still out there. We're hoping for a Christmas miracle. We just want him back for the remainder of his days...with us."
The dog, in addition to all his other health issues, has trouble walking and needs constant medication, and the owners fear he will not survive long without their care.
He is microchipped, so they are hoping that someone will find him and take him to an animal shelter or veterinarian's office.
