Laziest Dog In The World Is Always Napping On The Job
Gracie may be the cutest guard dog on the block, but she is also the least interested in the job. The tiny Chihuahua would rather nap than bark, which has made her a family favorite and a terrible line of defense.
Scott Hubbard and his family never expected her to be a real security system, but they did assume she would at least sound the alarm if something seemed off. Instead, Gracie has built a reputation for staying calm, staying put, and doing absolutely nothing when it counts most.
That might be bad news for home protection, but it has made her impossible not to love. Read on.
"She is the definition of chill," Scott Hubbard, Gracie's owner, told The Dodo. "She’s the most relaxed dog I’ve ever met in my life."
And yes, this “always napping” vibe still beats the chaos of a blind dog getting wildly excited to sense her favorite person.
"She’s the complete opposite of a stereotypical Chihuahua," Hubbard said.
Hubbard even predicted that if someone ever managed to get inside the house, "they would relax with her and have a drink together."
However, Gracie not being the best crime stopper doesn't mean that she doesn't pull her weight at home in other departments.
"She is extremely loving and happy," Hubbard said, adding that, despite her being so chill, she's also consistent. "I never have to think, 'I wonder what Gracie is doing?' She’s in the same spot when we leave and when we get back. Her personality is exactly what you see."
