Despite Their Large Size, These Wolfhounds Still Consider Themselves Lap Dogs

The Irish Wolfhound may be considered a member of the dog family today, but the breed was originally used in war, primarily to drag men off horses and chariots. They were also used for hunting deer, boar, and wolves.

These dogs are incredibly kid-friendly and affectionate with their families, and they are friendly toward strangers as well.

Wolfhounds also compete in tracking, obedience, and lure coursing.
